The House of Hades...

Book Review

Its been quite a long time since The House of Hades came out, and I bet most of the Rick Riordan fans would have finished reading it by now. Hard core fans might have already read it twice and are now waiting for the fifth and final book, The Blood of Olympus to release.

Percy & Annabeth in Tartarus
The House of Hades picks up right where The Mark of Athena left off. As Annabeth and Percy make their way through Tartarus, Jason, Piper, Nico, Leo, Hazel, Frank, and Coach Hedge journey toward Greece, hoping to meet their friends at the Doors of Death at exactly the right moment.

Piper and Jason
The perilous journey of Percy and Annabeth through Tartarus is precarious and spooky, just as Tartarus was described. It would be a shame if Percabeth could come out easily after all the descriptions of Tartarus as “dangerous, worse than hell, shady, creepy…”
For fans who find Annabeth and Percy’s romance appealing, this book will serve to strengthen affection of the couple, who somehow find a way to love each other even through the darkest depths of Tartarus.
Bob and Damsen show an impressive appearance.

Coach Hedge
Nico di Angelo
Coach Hedge, with the emotional range of a teaspoon, is sensitive in parts of the book. Piper, who is sensitive and girly, is just the way she is all through the book except the part in which she uses a bit of her brains and charm speaks Festus to wake him up. Otherwise, she is not much heroic at all; she seems nothing more than a pretty girl madly in love with a near perfect boy, and the daughter of a rich father. Frank if you thought did not do much in the previous books shows his true ‘Son of Mars’ traits. He shows a very remarkable performance at the temple of Hades in the ancient lands. Nico di Angelo’s love confession is shocking but pitiful. Leo is in his usual happy go lucky and humorous form but when faced by Calypso, is head over heels in love with her. He breaks down for a while when experiences separation. I found the Leo chapters the best [but Percabeth chapters are also good]. Jason is heroic and perfect, nothing new about him. Hazel has to face a lot of ‘difficulties’ and ‘crossroads’ but I personally find the Hazel chapters boring.
Frank and Hazel
Leo Valdez

According to me, The House of Hades is the most gripping books in the Heroes of Olympus series. There are lots of revelations and confessions, emotional moments and action, not to forget romance and sadness. It is dangerous and dark and there is not a moment when you will forget to
                                                       ask,  What  will happen next?”

Being impatient and restless is not termed as good behavior, but what can one do when a genius character writes such marvelous books and takes one full year to release the next book?
This thirteen year old cannot wait for The Blood of Olympus to come out.
